IDENTITY

I have said, you are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

The devil has been after man, since the creation of man, maybe its because he cannot understand why we were created in the same image as God, and given power and authority, to fellowship; such grace to communion with God the Almighty. Therefore, he seems to have committed himself to ensuring that we never enjoy that fellowship and communion with God. Hence his mission has been to attack our Identity; by giving conflicting and contrary messages that are anti Gods’

He started with Eve in the Garden of Eden, very subtly, craftily probed, and gave the wrong counsel, which led to Eve’s decision to eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil in the Garden, that God had instructed Adam not to eat of. The devil can never be caught with his hands in the cookie jar, he has been at this game for over 2000 years, and he is very good at what he does. At the end of the day, man himself carries out the rebellious action as a result of listening and communing with the devil, instead of with God, whom he was created in the image of, to have fellowship with.

Be careful what you give your attention to, because you can never outsmart the devil. Hence the admonition to resist him; ‘Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. It does not matter who you are or how old you are in the faith or how much you know God. You must be in constant communion and total submission to God. There is no man alive that has not been tempted by the devil, even in the scriptures, he always comes and attacks our identity, he makes us question who we are, and when you don’t have the Word of God or believe it enough to use to resist him with, you are bound to fall prey. And many a man and woman have fallen to the tempters’ ploy, some were not able to rise after they had fallen, but stayed down and the devil finished them off, while others who had fallen or who fell, rose again by the power of the Holy Spirit and did, and are doing great things for God. While some others, were able to resist him firmly with the word of God and by the power of the Holy Spirit, overcame him and did not fall prey to his teeth. Whether you fell, have fallen, or are rising from a fall, or even standing, we have been admonished to take heed. ‘For by strength shall no man prevail‘.

It is a constant battle to be in submission, under the mighty hand of God. Bro. Paul said; ‘but I train like a champion athlete. I subdue my body and get it under my control so that after preaching the good news to others I myself won’t be disqualified.’ For when you live controlled by the flesh, you are about to die. But if by the life of the Spirit puts to death the corrupt ways of the flesh, we then taste his abundant life’; For as long as we are in this world, distractions and lies are the devil’s strong weapons, he is very subtle and cunning and very good at what he does. His mission is to separate us from fellowship with God. But, if we are in constant fellowship and communion with God, God has promised us in His Word; ‘He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; ‘.
