STAY – Don’t give up!

God and His Word are the same – you can depend on it.

Whatever God says he will do is what He will do.

He does not always do it the way we expect Him to, but he always does it. His Words are true and there is no situation he cannot turn around no matter how humanly impossible it may seem. Remember, God is never late. Whenever He does it, is the right time. And He surely does make all things beautiful in His time.

Daddy Zachariah and Mama Elisabeth were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. And they had no child, because Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in year. They had past childbearing age. They must have even forgotten that there was a time when they used to pray and ask God for a Baby. Yet, when it was time, it did not matter anymore what the report was; that Elisabeth was barren, God sent His Word.

God sent Gabriel the Angel that stands in the presence of God to Zachariah while he was in the temple doing his priestly duties. The Angel told him that God had heard his prayers, that his wife would bear him a son, and Gabriel even went ahead to tell him the name to call the boy – John. So, it didn’t matter weather Zacharia believed it or not, it was a done deal. The Angel didn’t stop there, but went further to tell of the great things and wonder the coming of the child will bring. “And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth, for he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother’s womb, and many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God, and he shall go before Him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

As much as it is true that the righteous can only live by faith, it is also important to understand that God does not need our faith to be God. Your faith is your faith, faith is what helps you live a righteous and victorious life here on earth. Nevertheless, God knows what you need, and when it is best for you to have it. When it is time, it is time. But till then, our duty is to live our life here on earth pleasing God. And how can this be? By daily and constant feeding on the Word of God. Because it is also by the same Word of God that you are victorious. “…Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart…”

Even though Zachariah and Elisabeth, did not have a child all those years, it didn’t stop them from living faithful, and walking in obedience and in the ordinances of God.

“Beware! Guard against every kind of greed. Life is not measured by how much you own.”
