AT A TWINKLE – it can change
God is the sovereign King over all the earth: Times are in His hands.
He rules in the affairs of Man, He is the Almighty! He remains God. He has no equal, none can compare to Him. He is in a class all by Himself. He is Lord of all and God over all.
It does not really matter what is going on around you right now, or even in the world in general, God is still sovereign. Nothing takes God unawares.
The trajectory of your life can change within a second; in a twinkle. It really does not matter how you have been, or what has been. It does not even matter how you slept last night, how you woke up this morning, or how your day is going. Anything can happen within a second. God has the ability to change your story within a second. That is why He is sovereign.
Abraham was already 100years old, his wife Sarah had passed child bearing age, it didn’t seem like anything was happening as per the promise God had made to him; that his descendants would be as uncountable as the stars in the sky and as numerous as the sand on the seashore – yet, at that impossible age and season, Sarah got pregnant, and bore Abraham a son in his old age. What about Joseph, who had a promising future and was dearly loved by his parent; particularly his father, but was hated by his brothers, to the extent that they planned to get rid of him. They sold him into slavery. He was lied upon, and imprisoned; his promising future and dreams didn’t look like it was going to ever come to pass. But one day, his story changed. Just like that, within the hour, he went from being a prisoner to becoming a Prime Minister. What about the man at the pool of Bethsaida, he woke up that morning paralyzed and helpless as usual, he had been that way for 38years. What could possibly change? Yet, within the hour, he was healed, someone who did not have anyone to help him into the pool, was no longer paralyzed and helpless, his story had changed, he was walking and talking, completely healed. The woman caught in adultery, her case was finished, she was even caught in the very act. All that was left, was for her to be stoned to death, but within the hour, the angry mob with the big stones, that were ready to kill her, were nowhere to be found. She passed from death to life. For forty years, the Children of Israel, God’s Children had been in bondage, Pharaoh would not be moved, He was not going to let them go, but that one night, their story was changed for all eternity. Today, just as God had said, Abraham’s children are uncountable, they are as numerous, as the sands on the sea shore and still counting…
The question now is, are you God’s own? Has your life been ransomed by the blood of His son? The amazing thing about God is that anyone can come; you can come to Him just as you are; He will never reject you, He has already made the provision in His Son, for as many as would receive Him. Come to Jesus today, He has been waiting for you.
